Psalms 145:1
David’s Psalm of PraiseThis psalm is known as “David’s psalm of praise.” It was likely very special to him, and he sang it often. In the first part of the psalm, David praises God’s wonderful character—His greatness, goodness, and majesty. In the second part, he focuses on God’s rule and how He governs everything. David shows us that praising God should be both our duty and our delight, and that it’s something to do every day and for all time.v. 1-2: David promises to praise and bless the Lord every day. He says, “I will extol thee, my God, O king; and I will bless thy name for ever and ever” (Psalm 145:1 a). David is excited to praise God, not just in worship, but in his daily life. He wants to keep praising God all his life and even hopes that his psalms will help others praise God for generations (2 Chronicles 29:30 b).
