Believers do not need to fear death. God will save their souls from the grave. While the body goes to the grave, the soul is safe with God. At the resurrection, God will reunite the soul and body, giving eternal life. God also saves believers from eternal punishment. This is why death has no sting for God’s people (Revelation 2:11 ). God welcomes his people into his presence, just as David said, Into your hand I commit my spirit, for you have redeemed me (Psalm 31:5 ). Jesus also promised, In my Father’s house are many rooms... I go to prepare a place for you (John 14:2-3 ).
