‏ Psalms 7:3-5

v. 3-5: David tells God he is innocent of what people accuse him of. He says, Lord my God, if I have done this—if there is wrong in my hands… (Psalm 7:3-5 a). David did not harm Saul or try to hurt anyone who was at peace with him. In fact, he even spared Saul’s life when he had the chance (1 Samuel 24:4; 1 Samuel 26:12 b). David says if he is guilty, then let his enemy defeat him and destroy his honor. He knows that if he had done wrong, he could not ask God to defend him. It is important that our hearts are clean before God, especially when we call on Him for help.
