The focus is on the amazing work God has done through Jesus Christ, which is something never seen before. When God gives us a new heart, He also gives us a new song to sing. This praise should be full of excitement and thankfulness, especially for God’s redeeming love and faithfulness. v. 1 : The psalmist says, Oh sing to the Lord a new song, for he has done marvelous things . The work of salvation through Christ is truly wonderful. From God’s plan before time began, to the way salvation is completed forever, everything God has done is amazing and worthy of praise. The more we understand it, the more we will admire and celebrate it. He adds, His right hand and his holy arm have worked salvation for him . Jesus, our Savior, won the victory over sin, death, and Satan by His own power. He went through every struggle and defeated every enemy for us. Christ’s victory is complete and sure. It is God’s strength and faithfulness that brought this victory, especially when Jesus rose from the dead (Colossians 2:15 ).
