Rom 10:6-8 | MHM | STEP | v. 6 : “But the righteousness of faith speaks in this way, ‘Do not say in your heart, “Who will ascend into heaven?”’ (that is, to bring Christ down from above) or, ‘Who will descend into the abyss?’ (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead)” (Romans 10:6-7; Deuteronomy 30:12-13 ). The way of faith does not require us to do impossible things, because Christ has already come down from heaven and risen from the dead for us.

v. 8: “But what does it say? ‘The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart’ (that is, the word of faith which we preach)” (Romans 10:8; Deuteronomy 30:14 ^b). The message of faith is simple and close to everyone; you do not need to perform great works to be saved.
