Romans 7:13
v. 13: Paul concludes by saying that the law reveals the true nature of sin. He writes, Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good (Romans 7:13 a). The law exposes sin for what it truly is: exceedingly sinful. By revealing sin’s corruption, the law prepares us to see our need for a Savior. In summary, the law is not the problem. It is holy, just, and good. Its purpose is to reveal sin and bring us to repentance. But sin uses the law to provoke rebellion and bring guilt. This shows the depth of our need for God’s grace through Jesus Christ.
