God sometimes allows those who oppose him to continue, showing patience before bringing judgment, so his power and justice will be clear to all.

v. 23: “And that He might make known the riches of His glory on the vessels of mercy, which He had prepared beforehand for glory” (Romans 9:23 ^b). God’s patience and choices also show how great his mercy is to those he saves.
