Our souls are like vineyards, which we must check to see if our faith and goodness are growing. We need to see if our love and good actions are active, and if there are new, tender signs of spiritual growth. It is important to ask Christ to help us see how we are doing spiritually, because He can make our faith grow. If Christ sees our growth and knows our love is real, that is enough (John 21:17 ). We should ask Him to search us and show us our true state.
