‏ Zephaniah 2:15

v. 15: The prophet describes how proud Nineveh once was: This is the rejoicing city that dwelt carelessly, that said in her heart, I am, and there is none beside me (Zephaniah 2:15 a). Nineveh felt safe, rich, and powerful, thinking no one could compare to her. But now, everyone who passes by will mock her and shake their heads. The city that was once full of laughter will become a warning to others. People will not feel sorry for her, but will make fun of her downfall, forgetting that their own judgment may come soon.
