She was ready to cook the last meal for herself and her son, then expected they would die from hunger (1 Kings 17:12 ). Even though she was in great need, she was willing to help a stranger. When Elijah asked her for water, she went to get it without complaining. She was humble, hardworking, and generous, showing kindness even during hard times (John 4:9 ).
