1 Kings 20:38-43
– – – – – v. 43: Ahab went home upset and angry (1 Kings 20:43 a). He was not truly sorry for his mistake, but he was unhappy with the prophet’s message and with himself. This story warns us that showing mercy in the wrong way, without seeking God’s will, can lead to trouble. Kings and leaders should serve the Lord with respect and humility (Psalm 2:10-11 b).
