1 Kings 21:3
v. 3: Naboth refused to give up his vineyard, saying, The Lord forbid it me . This was not just a personal choice; God’s law said that Israelites should not permanently sell their family land except in rare cases, and it would always return to the family at the year of jubilee (Leviticus 25:28 a). Naboth wanted to obey God more than to please the king, showing true faithfulness and a tender conscience.
