1 Kings 22:17
v. 17: Micaiah then spoke plainly. He said he saw Israel scattered on the mountains, like sheep without a shepherd (1 Kings 22:17 a). This meant that the king would die in battle, and his people would have no leader—just like it says, Smite the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered (Zechariah 13:7 b). He said the army would have to retreat, but most of the soldiers would return home safely. Micaiah gave this prophecy truthfully, while the other prophets just said what Ahab wanted to hear (Jeremiah 23:28 c). Ahab complained to Jehoshaphat, saying that Micaiah always prophesied bad things about him (1 Kings 22:18 d). But warning someone about danger is actually an act of kindness.
