1 Samuel 25:43-44
v. 43-44: The passage also mentions David’s other wives. He had married Ahinoam of Jezreel, and Saul had given David’s first wife, Michal, to another man (1 Samuel 25:43-44 a). While David followed the customs of his time by marrying multiple wives, this was not God’s original design for marriage (Matthew 19:4-5 b). Saul’s actions in taking Michal away may have influenced David’s choices, but we should not use others’ faults as excuses for our own mistakes.
