1 Samuel 30:9
v. 9-10: David immediately set out with his men to chase the Amalekites (1 Samuel 30:9 a). Even though all his soldiers wanted to go, 200 of them were too tired to cross the brook Besor and had to stay behind (1 Samuel 30:10 b). This was a test of David’s faith, because he had fewer men, but he trusted God’s promise. David was also kind to his tired men, not forcing them to go farther than they could. This shows that God cares for us, even when we are weak (2 Corinthians 12:9-10 c).
