They did this not only in Judah and Benjamin but also in Ephraim and Manasseh. They broke down altars, images, and groves everywhere they could. They did not go home until all the idols were gone. This showed their strong desire to get rid of everything that offended God. As the prophet said, What have I now to do any more with idols? (Isaiah 2:20; 31:6-7 ).
