‏ 2 Chronicles 31:1

Hezekiah Destroys Idolatry

This section tells what happened after the Passover celebration. The people did not just stop at worship; they wanted to show real change in their everyday lives. True worship leads to action, not just ceremonies. The people became serious about removing sin and following God. Hezekiah continued to bring order to the way the priests and Levites served, making sure everything was done properly. The people gave generously to support God’s work, and God blessed them for their faithfulness.

v. 1: After celebrating the Passover, the people went out right away to destroy all the idols and places of false worship . They did this not only in Judah and Benjamin but also in Ephraim and Manasseh. They broke down altars, images, and groves everywhere they could. They did not go home until all the idols were gone. This showed their strong desire to get rid of everything that offended God. As the prophet said, What have I now to do any more with idols?(Isaiah 2:20; 31:6-7 a).
