Even if I boast somewhat more about our authority, which the Lord gave us for edification and not for destruction, I shall not be ashamed (2 Corinthians 10:8 ). Paul’s authority as an apostle was given by God, not for tearing people down but for building them up in faith. He is confident in this authority and uses it responsibly for the good of the church.
