Col 1:6 | MHM | STEP | v. 6 : Paul reminds them that they first heard about this hope through the gospel, which he calls the word of the truth (Colossians 1:5-6 ). The gospel is the true message from God. It has come to them, and also to people all over the world. Wherever the gospel goes, it produces fruit. That means it changes lives and makes people more like Jesus. Paul says, bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance (Matthew 3:8 ), and if you know these things, happy are you if you do them (John 13:17 ).
