v. 12: Paul connects baptism to their spiritual transformation: Buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him (Colossians 2:12 ^c). Baptism symbolizes dying to sin and rising to new life in Christ. Through faith, believers share in Christ’s death and resurrection, committing to live in righteousness. This change is not just symbolic but is a work of God’s power in their lives, as Paul says, If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17 ^d).
