These blessings are much greater than what was offered under the old Jewish system. v. 13 : Paul says that before knowing Christ, we were dead in our sins and the uncircumcision of our flesh (Colossians 2:13 ). This means we were separated from God, spiritually dead, and unable to help ourselves. But through Jesus, God made us alive together with Him. Christ’s resurrection brings us spiritual life and a new nature. We are no longer under the power of sin because of our union with Jesus.
