Deuteronomy 19:15
v. 15: Only one person’s word was not enough to accuse someone of a crime. There had to be two or three witnesses before a person could be punished. This protected innocent people from being harmed by someone who might lie about them (Deuteronomy 17:6; Numbers 35:30 a). It reminds us that people can be dishonest, but God’s truth is always sure (Romans 3:4 b).
