‏ Deuteronomy 25:17-18

v. 17-18: God commands Israel to remember what the Amalekites did to them when they came out of Egypt (Deuteronomy 25:17-18 a). Amalek attacked Israel without warning, targeting the weak and tired at the back of the group. This was especially cruel and cowardly. They had no fear of God, even though they saw his power and the cloud leading Israel. God sees attacks against his people as attacks against himself. He will hold accountable those who harm or discourage the weak, especially those who are new in faith (Exodus 17:14-16 b).
