He also tried to find purpose by working hard and accomplishing great things, like building projects and planting vineyards. He looked for satisfaction in success and achievements. But as the following verses show, even these did not bring him lasting happiness. The message is that neither pleasure nor hard work can give us the meaning and satisfaction that only God can provide.
