Ezekiel 16:63
v. 63: God explains the result: that you may remember and be confounded, and never open your mouth again because of your shame, when I am pacified toward you (Ezekiel 16:63 a). The more God shows kindness and forgiveness, the more his people will feel humble and ashamed of their earlier sins. They will not complain or argue with God. Instead, they will be silent and grateful. Knowing God is at peace with us through Jesus Christ should make us truly sorry for our sins, like the prodigal son who said, Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you (Luke 15:21 b). The greater our sense of God’s mercy, the deeper our regret for having offended him, and the stronger our comfort in his forgiveness.
