‏ Genesis 12:13

v. 13: Because of his fear, Abram asked Sarai to say she was his sister. He hoped this would keep him safe. Although it was partly true (see Gen. 20:12 a), Abram’s words were meant to deceive. This put Sarai and the Egyptians in danger of sin without knowing it. Abram’s decision came from fear of people rather than faith in God (Luke 12:4–5 b). Even a person known for faith, like Abram, can make mistakes when they let fear guide them instead of trust in God.
