Joseph now travels throughout Egypt as its ruler ( v. 45 ). Joseph’s rise from prison to power is a reward for his faithfulness and a sign of God’s goodness. This story also points to Jesus, who was lifted up and given all authority as the true “Saviour of the world” (John 1:18 ).
