‏ Genesis 41:45

v. 45: Pharaoh gives Joseph a new Egyptian name, Zaphnath-paaneah, which means “a revealer of secrets” or “saviour of the world.” He also gives him a wife named Asenath, the daughter of a priest. Joseph now travels throughout Egypt as its ruler (v. 45 a). Joseph’s rise from prison to power is a reward for his faithfulness and a sign of God’s goodness. This story also points to Jesus, who was lifted up and given all authority as the true “Saviour of the world” (John 1:18 b).
