Genesis 50:22-26: The Death of Joseph This section tells about the final years and death of Joseph in Egypt. Joseph lived a long life, saw his family thrive, and made his relatives promise to carry his body back to Canaan when God fulfilled His promise to bring them home. Joseph’s faith in God’s promise gave hope to his family, and his story ends with his burial arrangements, which looked forward to Israel’s future in the promised land.v. 22: Joseph lived in Egypt with his family and reached the age of 110. God blessed him with a long life as a reward for honoring his father (v. 22 a). Joseph’s long life was a blessing to his relatives, giving them comfort and support for many years.
