Heb 12:22 | MHM | STEP | v. 22–24 : Now, the Christian faith brings us to something much greater. We come to Mount Zion, the heavenly Jerusalem (Hebrews 12:22 ). This means we have a spiritual connection to God, like living in His holy city. Believers are part of a heavenly community, with an innumerable company of angels and the general assembly and church of the firstborn, who are written in heaven (Hebrews 12:23 ). We come to God Himself, the Judge of all , and to the spirits of just men made perfect . Most importantly, we come to Jesus, the mediator of the new covenant , and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel (Hebrews 12:24 ). Jesus’ blood brings forgiveness and peace, not judgment. Through Christ, we have access to God, the hope of heaven, and fellowship with all God’s people, both on earth and in heaven.
