Jer 15:8-9 | MHM | STEP | v. 8–9 : The destruction will be terrible. Their widows are increased above the sand of the seas —so many men will die in battle that there will be countless widows. The enemy will come like a spoiler at noon-day , attacking openly and without fear. Mothers who had many children will now lose them all, and their sun will go down while it is still day, meaning they will lose hope suddenly (Jeremiah 15:8-9 ). The rest who survive will also be delivered to the sword. This is the righteous judgment of the Lord , even though it is very severe.
