‏ Jeremiah 52:28-30

v. 28–30: The passage lists three main groups of captives. The first group was taken in the seventh year of Nebuchadnezzar’s reign, the second in his eighteenth year, and the third in his twenty-third year. The numbers are much smaller than in earlier records, possibly because many were killed as rebels. In total, 4,600 people are counted here. Even though the nation was greatly reduced, God would later make them grow again, just as He did when they were in Egypt (Jeremiah 52:28-30; 2 Kings 24:12,14,16 a).
