Jeremiah 52:31
Jehoiachin Favoured by Evil-merodachThis passage tells the story of Jehoiachin, the former king of Judah, who was released from prison after many years. The change happened when a new king, Evil-merodach, came to power in Babylon. This event shows how quickly things can change in life and how even those who have suffered for a long time may find hope and kindness. It also reminds us that God can cause people in power to show mercy, even to those who have been oppressed. The history of Jehoiachin encourages us to trust God’s timing and justice, knowing that He can bring relief even after many years of trouble.v. 31: In the thirty-seventh year of Jehoiachin’s captivity, Evil-merodach became king of Babylon. He showed kindness to Jehoiachin and took him out of prison (Jeremiah 52:31; 2 Kings 25:27 a).
