Jer 8:14 | MHM | STEP | v. 14 : The people feel desperate and afraid. They say, “Why do we sit still? Let us go into the fortified cities and be silent there.” But even in the cities, they realize they cannot escape God’s judgment. They understand that God has given them “water of gall” to drink because of their sins. Now they are left hopeless and silent (Jeremiah 8:14; Psalm 60:3 ).
