Job 11:5-6
v. 5–6: Zophar says, “But oh, that God would speak, and open His lips against you, that He would show you the secrets of wisdom! For they would double what is! Know therefore that God exacts from you less than your iniquity deserves.” (Job 11:5-6 a). Zophar wishes God would speak and prove Job wrong. He insists that God’s wisdom is much greater than people can understand (Ephesians 3:9 b). He also claims that Job’s suffering is actually less than what he really deserves, reminding us that God is always just (Lamentations 3:39; Psalm 103:10 c). –
