Sometimes dreams come from our own thoughts, but God can use them to stir our conscience and help us think about what is right or wrong (Psalm 4:4; Isaiah 30:21 ).

v. 16: Elihu says that God opens people’s ears and gives them understanding: Then he openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction . God makes sure the message gets through. He helps people pay attention and lets His teaching leave a strong impression, like a seal making a mark in wax. When God opens our hearts, we are ready to listen and obey (Isaiah 50:5 ^f).
