‏ Job 33:23-24

v. 23: If there is someone—a messenger or interpreter—who can help the sick person understand the meaning of their suffering and point them to God, this is a great blessing. Such a person can explain that God is upright and faithful, and that suffering can bring about repentance and change. This "messenger" is like a wise friend or minister who helps the sick person see what God might be teaching them .

v. 24: When God sees true repentance in the sick person, He is gracious and says, "Deliver him from going down to the pit; I have found a ransom." This points to God's mercy and the idea that there is a way to be saved—not just from physical death, but from spiritual ruin. The "ransom" here can be understood as a picture of Christ, who gave His life for many (Matthew 20:28 a).
