Nathanael was doubtful because Nazareth was a small and unimportant town. He did not expect the Messiah to come from there. But Philip did not argue; instead, he invited Nathanael to come and meet Jesus for himself. This teaches us that the best way to deal with doubts is to invite people to learn about Jesus directly.
