‏ Leviticus 11:24-28

v. 24-28: Anyone who touched the dead body of an unclean animal was considered unclean until evening (Leviticus 11:24-28 a). This was a ceremonial uncleanness, not a sin, but it meant they could not go to the tabernacle or share in holy things until the day ended. This rule helped people take God’s commands seriously, even if they did not understand the exact reason. Touching a living unclean animal was allowed for work, but touching it after death made a person unclean (Genesis 3:3 b).
