‏ Leviticus 14:8

v. 8-9: After the ceremony, the priest declared the person clean. This was done with care so the healed person and the community would know God had shown mercy. Only Christ, our true priest, can finally declare who is clean or unclean (Job 36:14 a). Even Jesus told people he healed to go to the priest and follow the law (Matthew 8:4; Luke 17:14 b). The healed person had to wash his clothes, bathe, and shave off all hair (v. 8 c). He had to wait another seven days outside the camp, then do the washing and shaving again (v. 9 d). This showed that even after forgiveness, people should carefully remove all sinful habits from their lives. Anyone who hopes in God should work to stay pure (2 Corinthians 7:1; 1 John 3:3 e).
