‏ Leviticus 5:15

v. 15-16: If someone was sure he had misused something holy, he must bring a ram without blemish as an offering. He also had to pay back the value of what he took, plus one-fifth extra. This extra payment helped teach people to be more careful in the future. It also supported the priests, who took care of God’s holy things. This rule shows there are real consequences for harming what belongs to God, even by accident. If someone did this on purpose, with disrespect, there was no forgiveness—only punishment (Hebrews 10:28 a).
