Luke 20:9
The Husbandmen and the VineyardJesus told this parable to warn those who refused to accept His authority, even though the proof was clear. The story is about people who rejected their master and, by doing so, lost their privileges. It teaches about the danger of rejecting God’s messengers and, finally, His Son.v. 9: Jesus compared the people of Israel to tenants in a vineyard (Luke 20:9 a). God gave them special blessings and responsibilities, like a landlord gives a vineyard to farmers. They had work to do and were supposed to give God the fruits of their service. Being part of God’s people is a privilege, but it also comes with duties to honor God and bear good fruit.
