Mark 1:12-13
v. 12-13: Right after his baptism, the Spirit led Jesus into the wilderness, where he was tempted by Satan for forty days (Mark 1:12-13 a). Jesus was with the wild animals, but God kept him safe. This time alone helped Jesus prepare for his ministry. The devil tried to tempt him, but Jesus did not sin. Angels came and took care of him. Jesus’ temptation teaches us that it is not a sin to be tempted, and that we can go to him for help when we are tempted. God’s angels and Spirit are with us too, giving us strength and protection. –
