Mark 14:10-11
v. 10-11: Judas, one of Jesus’ own disciples, went to the chief priests to betray him (Mark 14:10-11 a). Judas offered to help them arrest Jesus quietly, away from the crowds. He did this for money, showing that his love for wealth was greater than his love for Jesus. Once Judas made the deal, he looked for the right moment to betray Jesus. This teaches us to be careful about the sins that tempt us most, because they can lead us far from God. If we make a mistake, we should turn back quickly, because continuing in sin only leads to more trouble (Proverbs 6:1-5 b). –
