Matthew 20:31
v. 31: The crowd tried to silence the blind men, telling them to be quiet. But the men cried out even louder, Have mercy on us, O Lord, Son of David. Their persistence is an example for us. Even when others discourage us or try to stop us from seeking Jesus, we should not give up. Their prayer was humble—they asked for mercy, not demanding anything specific, but trusting Jesus to know what was best. They also showed faith by calling Jesus the Son of David, recognizing him as the promised Messiah (Psalm 72:12-13 a).
