Matthew 21:34-36
v. 34–36: When the harvest time comes, the owner sends servants to collect his share of the fruit. The tenants beat one servant, kill another, and stone a third. The owner sends more servants, but the tenants treat them the same way (Matthew 21:34-36 a). The servants represent the prophets God sent to Israel. Again and again, God sent messengers to call the people to righteousness, but they were rejected, mistreated, and even killed. This shows God’s patience, as He keeps giving His people chances, but they keep refusing. – –
