‏ Matthew 23:23

v. 23: “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices—mint, dill, and cumin. But you neglect the more important matters of the law—justice, mercy, and faithfulness. You should have practiced the former, without neglecting the latter.” They were careful about small religious rules but ignored what really matters to God—being fair, kind, and faithful (Matthew 23:23 a).
