‏ Matthew 23:5

v. 5–7: Jesus explains, Everything they do is done for people to see (Matthew 23:5 a). They wear special clothes and symbols to look holy, and they love to be honored in public and have the best seats at feasts and in the synagogues. They enjoy being called ‘Rabbi’ or teacher. Jesus warns that they care more about praise from people than about pleasing God.
