‏ Matthew 26:35

v. 35: Peter insisted, “Though I should die with thee, yet will I not deny thee” (Matthew 26:35 a). He thought he would rather die than deny Jesus, which is what Jesus asks of his disciples (Luke 14:26 b). But it is easier to say brave words than to act bravely when the time comes. All the other disciples said the same thing. This shows that even good people can be too confident in their own strength. Those who are most sure of themselves often fall the hardest (1 Corinthians 10:12 c).
