‏ Numbers 21:5-6

v. 5: The people complained against God and Moses. They said they had no bread or water, and they called the manna “light bread,” even though it was a miracle from God. Their hearts were ungrateful, and they did not appreciate what God had provided .

v. 6: God sent fiery serpents into the camp as punishment. The snakes bit many people, and many died. Before this, God had protected them from such dangers, but now He allowed the serpents to come because of their sin (Numbers 21:6; Deuteronomy 8:15 a).
