Num 3:12 | MHM | STEP | v. 12-13 : The Levites were taken by God in place of the firstborn sons of Israel. When God saved the firstborn of Israel in Egypt, He claimed them as His own ( v. 12, 13 ). But instead of taking the firstborn from every family, God graciously chose the entire tribe of Levi to serve Him. This was a wise and kind arrangement, so families did not have to give up their oldest sons. In the same way, Christians are called to belong to God because He created and saved them.
