‏ Proverbs 31:6

v. 6-7: She points out that strong drink should be given to those who are suffering or dying, not to rulers who must make wise decisions. Give strong drink to him that is ready to perish, and wine to those that are of heavy hearts (Proverbs 31:6 a). Used properly, it can help people forget their pain for a while. But it is not meant for self-indulgence or to escape responsibilities. Even the apostle Paul advised using a little wine for health, not for pleasure (1 Timothy 5:23 b).
